An agreement between Sky Deutschland and SES Astra’s HD+ platform to make reception of the two services on a common smart card possible seems likely, according to local press reports.
“Positive talks” between the two parties are currently ongoing and an agreement is likely to be reached “soon”. Up to now, viewers need to buy two different receivers and two different smart cards to receive the two satellite delivered platforms.
Sky Deutschland offers a number of pay TV and premium channel bouquets, including (soon) 12 HDS channels, while HD+ offers HD versions of 8 private channels, RTL HD, Vox HD, RTL2 HD, ProSieben HD, Sat.1HD, kabeleins HD, Sixx HD and Sport1 HD.
