Default HMD Pulse trio unveiled: affordable phones with 'Gen 1 repairability'

While the Nokia/HMD partnership still has some way to go, HMD Global is forging its own path with the launch of the Pulse phones – there are three models that fall in the €100-€200 price range.HMD is betting that consumers are moving to more environmentally-conscious products and are placing an emphasis on repairability. Default TikTok is another step closer to a ban in the US following Senate vote

After a swift vote in the House of Representatives earlier this week, the United States Senate has now passed the National Security Package which includes the controversial potential ban on TikTok in the US. Following the US legislative process, the bill is now heading to President Joe Biden who has previously committed to signing it into law.Should that scenario play out TikTok parent company ByteDance would be left with two choices - divest into a US-based company in the next twelve months or face an effective ban on TikTok in the US. TikTok has been campaigning against the ban and...

Default Apple reportedly cuts Vision Pro production as demand falls sharply

According to the ever-reliable purveyor of Apple-related supply chain sourced information Ming-Chi Kuo, things are far from rosy for the Vision Pro headset at the moment. Kuo says Apple has cut its shipment estimates (and thus, production orders) for the full year to 400,000-450,000 units, versus the "market consensus" of 700,000-800,000 units or more.Apple has done this before launching the headset in markets outside of the US, which means that the demand in the US has fallen sharply way below the company's initial expectations. Thus, influenced by the demand in the US falling off a...

Last year EV maker Nio launched its own smartphone and this seems to have started a frenzy amongst its competitors. That's no coincidence since both Polestar and Meizu are owned by Chinese auto giant Geely. The Polestar Phone comes...

Default Infinix Note 40 5G is on the way with Dimensity 7020 chipset

Infinix already has four devices in its Note 40 line - the Note 40, Note 40 Pro, Note 40 Pro 4G, and Note 40 Pro+. But four isn't enough, and so the company is working on a fifth member of the family - the Note 40 5G. This handset has been spotted in the Google Play Console and it's also been certified by the FCC, Wi-Fi Alliance and BIS, and it's even run Geekbench already. There's a lot to unpack, therefore, so let's get started. The Note 40 that was launched back in March is 4G-only, being powered by MediaTek's Helio G99 Ultimate SoC. The Note 40 5G, on the other hand, goes with the...

Default Sony INZONE Buds in for review

The Sony INZONE Buds have been out for some time now but we have only just managed to get out hands on them. While they may look like your average Bluetooth earbuds, that's far from the case. First, let's look at the packaging. Like other recently Sony devices, the packaging is entirely made out of paper. You get the earbuds, a short charging cable, and four sets of silicone tips in different sizes. The INZONE Buds are gaming-centric earbuds that work primarily using a USB dongle that plugs into your PC or PS5. It operates on the 2.4GHz band and has a claimed latency of only...

Default Sony Xperia 1 VI price leaks

Sony's Xperia 1 VI is getting official on May 17, and as we get closer to that date the number of leaks about it is growing. Less than a day ago the phone's camera island leaked hinting at larger camera modules compared to the Xperia 1 V, directly contradicting an earlier rumor. So far what most rumors have converged on is that the phone will lose the 4K display and will make it have a slightly more common aspect ratio. One piece of the puzzle that has so far not been mentioned is price, but today we have an idea of what to expect on that front too. In Taiwan the phone will allegedly cost...

Default Google Pixel 8a leaks in even more official-looking renders

It seems like there's a new Google Pixel 8a leak almost every day now, as we get closer to its expected official unveiling during Google's I/O developer conference taking place on May 14. We've recently seen the phone in official-looking yet slightly blurry renders, then in better quality ones, then in hands-on images, and even in a hands-on video.
