    Howto access the Video button with the small silver remote with the Jade2 software

    The video menus give you access to the record button and several others as shown below. But
    before we can do this you have to select the remote control you have on your DM500. To do this
    you have to ( The howto is here )

    1. Press the menu | setup | hardware | remote control selections
    2. select silver remote

    3. Go to TV screen

    4. From the TV screen press the OK button so you see the OSD popup like this example below

    5. Now press the Help button and the screen above will change to be like this;

    6. To get more help press the help button again and these screen will provide you with all the commands

    The VIDEO controls will NOT appear until you select the correct remote control (Silver)

    WARNING: By making this selection of the silver remote your WEBIF remote may not work correctly

    Tip: For this tip above to work you need to have the correct remote control unit defined in the Hardware setup section

    Tip: press the RED button to see the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)
    Tip: To assign new functions to your Yellow and Blue buttons, learn more about it here
    Tip: The old blue button for softcams and downloads is still there but in a different layout click here to learn more
    Tip: The old PPanels menu is now under the "yellow" button click here to learn more
    Tip: a DM500+, DM600, DM7000, DM7020 remote will now work on your DM500 ..

    Accessing the remote control function from your desktop

    By Riad

    Using the Windows operation system, I needed to send remote control
    codes/presses via the LAN to control the Dreambox:

    1. Download WGET for Windows and place it in C:\ (google is your friend)
    2. Lunch a command prompt window (CMD) and type:
    C:\wget.exe –quiet –delete-after http://ipofyourdmbox/cgi-bin/rc?X
    (where ipofyourdmbox might = 192.168.1.3)

    By replacing X with the correct code number,
    the wget command will send a remote control
    key press/code to the Dreambox. The flag –quite will make the
    command silent, and –delete-after will make wget not write any files to C:\

    Here is a list of remote command codes:

    116=Power
    2=1
    3=2
    4=3
    5=4
    6=5
    7=6
    8=7
    9=8
    10=9
    158=previous
    11=0
    159=next
    115=volume up
    113=mute
    402=bouquet up
    114=volume down
    1=lame
    403=bouquet down
    358=info
    103=up
    141=dream
    105=left
    352=OK
    106=right
    392=audio
    108=down
    393=video
    398=red
    399=green
    400=yellow
    401=blue
    385=tv
    377=radio
    66=text
    138=help

    The above method can be used in many situations, but the way I use it
    is with IR Server Suite to control my Dreambox from a different room using Media Center PC.
